“Letting Go of What Has a Hold On You”

Mark 1:12-13

12 And the Spirit immediately drove him out into the wilderness. 13 He was in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan; and he was with the wild beasts; and the angels waited on him.

Psalm 46

1 God is our refuge and strength,

a very present help in trouble.

2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change,

though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;

3 though its waters…

Why Do You Blog? *NEW POST*

Dr. Eric Perry’s Blog

We all have our personal reasons for wanting to publically journal or dare to attempt to write for others. I started my blog 2 years ago as a way to escape. At this time, I was beginning to work on my Ph.D. My proposal had been approved and now came the difficult part of literature research and writing down coherently on paper what I had in my head.

I remember the exact night I started the blog. It was after midnight and ahead of me, I had hours of reading and writing. I have to admit I was lonely and seeking some sort of camaraderie as well as escape from my present task. I downloaded the WordPress app and tried to think of what to write that would be of interest to others and myself. My first post was “3 Steps to Stand Out in a Crowd.” It was an…

Respecting difference: Autistic people aren’t ‘speaking neurotypical’

YennPurkis

In the course of a presentation today I did something I have never done before – I spoke to a former ABA therapist. MY heart sank as she eagerly said ‘What do you think about ABA?’ For anyone who hasn’t come across it before, ABA or Applied Behaviour Analysis is an intervention used on autistic kids. It is essentially premised on making children ‘less autistic’ and uses a system of rewards and in many cases punishments to promote compliance. Almost every autistic advocate you will meet will say how damaging ABA is, doing things like forcing kids to make eye contact and coming from the premise that autistic reality is ‘wrong’ and in need of fixing. There is growing evidence as autistics who were subjected to ABA as kids grow older, that it causes trauma. ABA pretty much stands against everything I believe in and strive for. So being confronted…

“There is only one world, the world pressing against you at this minute. There is only one minute in which you are alive, this minute here and now. The only way to live is by accepting each minute as an unrepeatable miracle.” ~Anonymous

What if all we are is a fleeting and fragile physical manifestation of our thoughts; unconnected floating ideas that bind together to form the physical representation of your self and the world you live in?

The moment of complete awareness of the self is a sacred one that should not be wasted in anguish and confusion. Every moment is an opportunity to be fully aware and reconnect with your living force. One can create these moments of reconnection by pausing for any amount of time during the day and fully engaging in your self. Rushing through your days in a caffeinated trance will…

A Different Outrageous Life

My Joyous Feature

Outrageous through a simplest moment to intensify into a cleaver figure. Taking that knowledge to infer it through that simple pleasure. It’s like a rousing moment came from. Knowing the exact point for an outrageous moment of all. Needing a pure detail to bring it all the way.

An outrageous style will cherish the lead. Thinking of an expression to just stand out. Noticing a clever personality to shine all around. Letting it overcomes classical movement. In the meantime, it will never get stuck in so many ways.

The most outrageous behavior can carry it through. Discovering a more lunatic falling. Blending into a different twist can reflect so many things related to it. Nothing beyond that genuine power can take an outrageous behavior to the adjacent level. Having a fringe to take upon it.

No injustice can power that outrageous feature. Looking at it as if a person can…
